Project
Logo design/illustration
Client
A friend's startup apparel company, “I Can’t Trust You”, whose name is provocative on the face, but is a summary of Jeremiah 17:5—“Thus says the Lord, cursed is the man who trusts in mankind, And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.”
I was asked to design the logo and some illustrations for the company to be used on different apparel products.

ICTY – ’80s Synthwave Logo (2018)
Next, I was asked to design a 1980s synthwave styled illustration, remixing the visual look of the ICTY logo.
I consulted various animated TV show title sequences from the 1980s for inspiration and went straight to Adobe Illustrator to assemble the essential elements—low setting sun, palm trees, 1980s/90s neon and metallic block lettering, neon horizon grid.
Once approved, I saved an alternate typography centric version of the illustration without all of the background graphic elements, allowing the design to be used in smaller formats. I sent the final high resolution print-ready files for the illustration to my friend for production.
Various merchandise and mockups.
ICTY – If You Ain’t From the D Logo (2019)
An additional two-color illustration for I Can’t Trust You, incorporating the Detroit Old English 'D' and some iconic buildings from the Detroit riverfront/skyline.
This illustration went through a few iterations before it reached its final approved design (right).
